Mark Stawicki is the founding partner of Stawicki and Maples. He graduated from University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 1983. He has been exclusively practicing plaintiff's personal injury for nearly 25 years and has represented thousands of injured victims. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Consumer Attorneys of America, and Capitol City Trial Lawyers Association. Mr. Stawicki is admitted to practice before all of the courts in the State of California and in the Eastern District of the United States District Court.
John C. Maples
Mr. Maples is a graduate of California State University, Sacramento (B.S. in Criminal Justice - Investigations). He served a year-long internship as an investigator with the Sacramento Public Defender's Office, prior to several years experience in counseling juvenile delinquents in secured settings. Mr. Maples also has a P.O.S.T. (Peace Officer Standards and Training) Basic Academy Certificate as a graduate of the Sacramento Police Academy and was previously employed by the City of Sacramento Police Department. He maintains a keen interest in clinical medicine, particularly Orthopedics and Neurology. Mr. Maples graduated from Lincoln Law School, located in Sacramento, California. He served internships with the Sacramento County and Yolo County Public Defender's Offices prior to practicing civil law. Mr. Maples is licensed to practice before all of the courts of the State of California and in the Eastern District of the United States District Court. Mr. Maples has argued cases in State of California Administrative Hearings and Worker's Compensation Hearings. He has handled claims through the Federal Torts Claims Act. He has also argued matters before the 3rd District Court of Appeals for the State of California. Mr. Maples has successfully arbitrated medical malpractice claims through the Kaiser Arbitration Process. Mr. Maples is a past exhibitor at the Northern California Abilities Exposition for victims of Brain Trauma and Spinal Cord Injury. Mr. Maples is a current and past member of the El Dorado County Bar Association, the Capitol City Trial Lawyers Association, the Consumer Attorneys of California, the American Trial Lawyers Association, and the California Farm Bureau. Mr. Maples is also a Judge Pro Tempore for the El Dorado County Superior Court. Brian P. Azemika
Brian P. Azemika joined Stawicki and Maples in 2008, concentrating in the areas of personal injury and civil litigation. He attended the University of California Davis where he graduated with honors in 2001 with a B.A. in Political Science. In 2004, Mr. Azemika graduated on the Dean's List from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. Among his awards, he received the Barrister's Scholarship from UOP McGeorge, the Gary V. Schaber Memorial Scholarship, and the 2002-2003 John A. McCarthy Scholarship. Mr. Azemika was sworn into the California Bar in December 2004, and he is licensed to practice before all courts in the State of California and in federal court in the Eastern District of the United States District Court. Prior to joining our firm, Mr. Azemika practiced law in Bakersfield, California for Chain, Younger, Cohn, and Stiles, as a trial attorney specializing in personal injury, civil litigation, and administrative law. While working for Chain Younger, Mr. Azemika was involved in several appellate cases, including successfully arguing a case before the 5th Appellate District Court of California. Brian is a former elected member of the Board of Directors for the Kern County Bar Association. Currently, he is a member of the Consumer Attorneys of California, American Association for Justice, and the Capitol City Trial Lawyer's Association.
Nicholas Anderson joined Stawicki & Maples in 2011. Mr. Anderson’s practice focuses exclusively on representing individuals and families for personal injury and wrongful death claims. Mr. Anderson is a lifelong Sacramento resident with strong ties to the community. After living for two years in the Dominican Republic, where he became fluent in Spanish, Mr. Anderson returned to Sacramento to pursue his education. He graduated Magna cum Laude from California State University, Sacramento, earning a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting. Mr. Anderson attended University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law, graduating with Distinction. and a concentration in Tax Law. Mr. Anderson is a member of the Consumer Attorneys of California and the Capitol City Trial Lawyers Association.
Away from work, Mr. Anderson enjoys spending time with his wife, Cristina and their four children. They are active in the Sacramento community and participate in volunteer work through their church.
Kellen B.H. Sinclair
Kellen Brian Howard Sinclair has been at Stawicki & Maples since 2012. Mr. Sinclair received his Bachelor's degree in Political Science from the University of California Los Angeles and his Juris Doctor degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law. He was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2014. Mr. Sinclair volunteers for the Saint Vincent de Paul society chapter through St. Mary's Parish in Sacramento.
David E. Castro
David Elias Castro began his career with Stawicki & Maples as a law clerk in 2013. Mr. Castro earned his Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Central Florida located in Orlando, Florida. Mr. Castro subsequently graduated from Florida Coastal School of Law with a Juris Doctor. While at Florida Coastal, Mr. Castro also earned a Certificate in Research, Writing, and Drafting and participated in Trial Advocacy. The specialized curriculum allowed Mr. Castro to hone his skills in oral advocacy, legal analysis, legal research, and legal writing. Mr. Castro was admitted to the State Bar of California in 2014 and now works as an Associate Attorney in the litigation department of Stawicki & Maples handling dog bite, premises liability, and auto accident cases.
Prior to working as an Associate Attorney for Stawicki & Maples, Mr. Castro served as a law clerk for Bowman & Associates handling assignments in the area of Debt Collection, Bankruptcy, Personal Injury, and Criminal Law. Mr. Castro also gained experience in the Florida Coastal School of Law Family Law Legal clinic where he litigated cases in the areas of Paternity, Time-sharing, and Dissolution of Marriage. Mr. Castro also served an internship with the Office of the Public Defender for the 4th Judicial Circuit of Florida. Mr. Castro is a member of the Capitol City Trial Lawyer’s Association and the American Bar Association.
Mr. Castro enjoys volunteering in any activity that involves children. He served as a Guardian Ad Litem for the Florida Guardian Ad Litem Program in Jacksonville, Florida. On his spare time he enjoys coaching the basketball and softball teams for his niece and nephew.
